math.sinh
hyperbolic
The hyperbolic sine of x: (e**x - e**-x) / 2.
Syntax
math.sinh(...)
The argument is not an angle: math.radians and math.degrees have no place here, hyperbolic functions take a plain real number. The result is unbounded and grows exponentially, so past roughly 710 in absolute value you get OverflowError instead of a value.
Examples
import math
print(math.sinh(0)) # → 0.0
print(math.sinh(1)) # → 1.1752011936438014
print(round(math.sinh(-1), 4)) # → -1.1752
print(math.isclose(math.sinh(1), (math.e - 1 / math.e) / 2)) # → True
print(math.sinh(1000)) # → OverflowError
