Python 3.8+Windowsplatformfunction
platform.win32_is_iot()
specific operating systems
True if the Windows edition is an IoT one (Windows for embedded devices); False on other OSes.
Syntax
platform.win32_is_iot()
It checks win32_edition() against a list of known IoT editions, so a new edition missing from the list yields False. It is safe to call on Linux and macOS, where the answer is always False. It is rarely needed in practice: IoT Core lacks much of the standard library.
Examples
import platform, sys
print(type(platform.win32_is_iot()).__name__) # → bool
if sys.platform != 'win32':
print(platform.win32_is_iot()) # → False
